Interest and Conceptual Change in Science Education
Synopsis
Habitual use of effective 'hooks' is a good practice that helps migrate students situational interest to personal interest. In this session, examples of interesting 'hooks' in science lessons were presented. Examples of developed 'hook' videos were also presented. These 'hook' videos apply the 'Predict-Explain-Observe-Explain' model and are delivered by Science Teachers in their mother tongue. Teacher-developers of these videos experience the positive effect of using science 'hook' videos in their instruction.
